I thought this was a professional service?
Terrible experience. I received heirloom china as a gift while visiting Utah. I took it to this UPS Store on Parrish Lane in Centerville Utah, to have it professionally wrapped, packed and shipped to my home. I decided I should take it to a "professional" because they would do a better job than I could. I was WRONG!!!
All 90 pieces of china were placed in ONE cardboard box. The pieces were NOT wrapped individually, but in large groups (of 10-12 pieces) then covered with bubble wrap. These groups were then placed in a cardboard box on top of each other (3-4 layers deep) with a few "packing peanuts" in between I think everyone knows "china" or glass plates/bowls etc need to be wrapped individually, piece by piece, for shipment. A sturdy shipping crate/box should also be used so there is no movement of the items within the box. And... layering heavy glass bundles 3-4 deep one top of each other is not a good idea.
Upon arrival, the results were disastrous with many broken pieces.
Don't make the same mistake!!! Do not trust them!
NEXT came the the hard part of trying to get someone to take responsibility!!! This store passed me to UPS. I submitted a claim, sent photos, sent information. I was then passed back to this UPS Store (the franchise) to finalize this claim. It has been four weeks with no results. The only communication is when I make the call to this store. Last week, the manager said the claim had been approved. This week he said it wasn't... because he had received an email (but he hadn't bothered to call me even though there was something more I needed to do).
I needed to return an Amazon order. The store clerk was really friendly, fast, taped the box for me and I was out the door in 3 mins!
Awesome service! Friendly and helpful staff! I've had a fair share of bad service experiences at the post office. I thought I'd give UPS a try. I'm so glad I did! I will be using this UPS store from now on. Thanks to the staff for the nice experience!
I received broken china in return for trusting this "franchise".
The rating on the outside of the box says 65 lbs but the final weight of the china as noted on the receipt was 85 lbs.
Went to have documents notarized, but they did not have a notary on staff today. Called the Bountiful UPS Store and did not have a notary on staff today either. If you are going to advertise notary service as something you offer, then perhaps you ought to put the footnote that it is by appointment, or call ahead. Will use a bank in the morning and just continue to do so in the future.
Called them was left on hold forever. Clearly not interested in my business.
I paid extra for insurance. I paid extra for them to "professionally" do the packing. I paid for shipping.
